Girl Talk returns to Columbus
Gregg Gillis a.k.a Girl Talk, is coming back to Bustown to warm our chilly 'lil
ears with some block rockin' beats. Last time he came it was two nights of
sick mash-up beats, sweating bodies, and hours of bodyrock! This time the
dude brings it with his new album, All Day.
All Day dropped in the middle of the night last month. His label, Illegal Art,
didn’t even know he was going to release it. This also led to the unexpected
crashing of the label's site because so many peepswere trying to download it.
Personally, his album isn’t as rug cutting worthy as Feed the Animals was.
However, All Day does have a few gems. He starts the album with some
classic Sabbath and works his way up from there. Plenty of hooks from
Miley Cirus, Ramones, Rhinna, and T.I. There is simply no genre cap
on his selection.
What I look forward to the most of Girl Talk’s show is getting on stage with
him while he does his thing. That’s right, if you get to the doors early enough,
you will be able to bumrush the stage and become part of the infamous
dance party. You will of course be packed with 100 other lucky fans, but hey
who doesn’t grace their inner rock star presence on stage?
Girl Talk plays the LC Pavilion in Columbus on January 6. You can also
download All Day for free from Illgealart.net/allday with no website crashing.
