Soul Burns
(By: Harry K. Flanagan)

The hallway's empty, all is lost,
And yet the memories remain.
There's nothing more I can give,
And nothing more that I can gain.
It's aching me to feel this way,
This constant suffering and pain.
I can't take this as much anymore,
I hope that I never feel again!

MY SOUL BURNS INSIDE, I GO INSANE,
THINKING EVERYTHING'S THE SAME.
MY SOUL BURNS INSIDE AND NOW I KNOW,
THERE'S NO PLACE LEFT FOR ME TO GO!

It's in the shadows that I lurk,
And look for a place that I can rest.
My life it seems to be so hard,
Still I continue to do my best.
I screwed up enough and now I'm done.
There's nothing more that I can take,
I lock myself inside as I scream,
Fuck it all, I'm going to break!

MY SOUL BURNS INSIDE, I GO INSANE,
THINKING EVERYTHING'S THE SAME!
MY SOUL BURNS INSIDE AND NOW I KNOW,
THERE'S NO PLACE LEFT FOR ME TO GO!

I have to find a place to call my own!
A place where I am not ALONE!

A poem about the struggles of life. Love, independence, hardships, and more. A poem that expresses the feeling of falling flat bottom in life and giving in.
